Tricks, Trunks, & Treats 2009

We had a fun Halloween this year! Aubrey was Jenga Fett, Eli was Scooby Doo, and Nate was Mickey Mouse of course. We started out at our church doing Trunk or Treat. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed seeing all of our friends with themed trunks and fun costumes. Eli & Nate got to hang out with their "girlfriends", the Turner girls at the church as well! We then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and went trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. We ended the night at Mamaw and Pop's house and caught up with the cousins for a few houses!
The boys were exhausted and so were mommy & daddy but we all had a great time and ended up with massive amounts of candy! (Some of which disappeared as they were sleeping!)

Pumpkin Patch with Eli's Kindergarten class

It was a gorgeous day to go to the Pumpkin Patch! Eli had fun picking cotton, petting animals, going on a hay ride, playing in the hay maze and picking out a mini pumpkin. The weather was so nice. It was about 72 degrees and sunny. The hay ride was pretty bumpy due to all the mud from the rainy days we have had but the kids giggled like crazy as we held on for dear life!
I am so glad I was able to take the day off and got to experience this FT with my little man.
Also, I have some awesome news! Eli prayed to receive Christ on Monday night! He is so excited and has been telling everyone how much he loves Jesus!

Pumpkin Carving!

The boys had a great time digging goo out of their pumpkins today! They each picked a pattern that matched their costume for this year. Aubrey did a Star Wars starfighter since he is going to be Jenga Fett ( a Star Wars Bad guy). Eli did Scooby Doo with a witch hat since he is going to be Scooby. Nate is going to be Mickey Mouse so he did a Mickey Mouse head on his pumpkin. Yes the tatoos are the temporary kind! I hate tatoos and they put about 5 each on their stomachs and shoulders before I could catch them! They look like little redneck boys!
The patterns were pretty tough this year and Daddy had his work cut out for him! No pun intended!
They are all ready for trick-or-treat next weekend! So glad that the Fall weather has arrived! I love the cool fresh air! Stay tuned for more Halloween/Fall pics.

Fall Fun and Friends

Over the last couple weekends we have been able to spend some time together as a family enjoying the Fall weather. We went one last time to the zoo and enjoyed all of the Halloween decor and then this weekend we went to Alabama Adventure with some great friends of ours. The Egberts are some of our friends from church. We had a great time hanging out and letting our kids ride rides! Eli also got to bring his best buddy Dakota with us and they had a lot of fun together. The Fall weather was great and the sunshine was such a site for soar eyes.
We are so thankful to have such fun Christian friends to have fun with.

Halloween Cookies and Bama Boys!

We had a nice weekend together as a family. We went out for Mexican, bought costumes, got pumpkins, rented movies, and decorated pumpkin cookies with icing, candy and sprinkles. The boys also supported their team and they looked so cute in their Bama outfits! Roll Tide and Go Rebels. Although we usually pull for Bama it was a torn decision today since they were playing our other favorite team! Happy Fall Y'all!

A Very Veggie 3rd Birthday!

Well our 3rd birthday party is over and Nate had a blast! He wanted a Veggie Tales party this year so I made a Bob and Larry cake. It turned out really cute but right before the guests arrived he put his fist down on Larry's head so it was a little flat in that area. He had to sample the goods!! We had mostly family and close friends. We ate pizza and cake and rainbow goldfish.
They played outside with beach balls until it started raining. We set up the tables on our covered front porch since we knew it was supposed to rain. The kids sat out there and ate and the adults wandered in and out.
Nathaniel got some cute Alabama clothes, a dinosaur that growls and walks, an RC jeep, a tractor, a DQ gift card, movies (MM and Veggie Tales of course), a Leap Frog game system, clothes and a new Buzz Lightyear bike from mommy and daddy. We all had a great time watching him enjoy the spotlight. Over the last two weeks, Aubrey and Eli have been really mean to him about playing with their new toys fron their birthdays. He has gotten really frustrated with them. So today when he opened his tractor and Eli reached over to try the buttons Nate grabbed it away and said " No Eli, this is my present...DONT TOUCH!"I guess what comes around goes around! Happy Birthday little man!

Eli's Fishin' birthday fun!

Eli had his 6th birthday party today at Joe Tucker park. It was a gorgeous day! We postponed it from yesterday due to rain and I am so glad we did. It was sunny and 85 with a nice breeze going. We played on the playground, went fishing in the pond and fed the geese. Eli had a cool fishing cake that we hired a friend to make ( I was afraid to attempt a fishing cake). It turned out really cute. I did make the blue jello cups with floating gummy fish! (They looked more like floating dead fish but the kids thought they were cool!) We also had rainbow goldfish of course! Eli had a blast and got lots of cool stuff like games, nerf guns, gift cards, scooby-doo crocs, legos, a guitar, and ipod and an art kit!He has been playing with all of his stuff since we got home! It was an awesome day and I am so proud of my little 6 year old!
Now we have our last birthday party coming up next week! Nate is turning 3.
