We wanted to start a new journal that focused on our family now that we are back from Ukraine. For those of you who have not figured it out yet, we came home empty handed. If you want to read more about our trip you can view our other blog at www.copesadopt.blogspot.com.
Since we have been home we have been working hard at reconnecting with our boys. They really missed us and have been extremely clingy since we got home. We are so thankful that we were able to spend the Holidays with them. Eli got glasses the week before Christmas and is still adjusting. He has done much better than I thought about keeping them on but I feel like I clean them 200 times a day! Aubrey is doing better but we have had to make a lot of insulin adjustments this month. We are hoping that he will be able to go on an insulin pump next year. They prefer that kids are at least 5 and that they are on insulin for a year before they will consider a pump. He does great with his shots and handles things a lot better than we ever thought possible. It is still difficult for us when we think he will have this disease the rest of his life but we know God will give us the strength to deal with what is to come.
Santa brought a new dog for Christmas named Sophie. She is a one year old Boston Terrier from our local rescue and unfortunately she was way to active and destructive for the boys. She would nip at their feet when playing and knock them down. She also chewed everything including our kitchen cabinets and window sill. She even chewed our devotion book to bits! Anyway, the boys are a little disappointed but the rescue is bringing a new dog named Button Jane (Janie) on Saturday. She is 4 years old and much calmer. We hope she works out better for us and also that she gets along with our Pug Jasmine. If all works out we will post some pics here of her on Saturday.
We will also try to post once a week or so and put any news we have and new pics of the boys. Thank you for all of your love and support.
