Well as most of you have heard by now my sweet Grandma went to heaven on the 6th of July. We had to make a trip to Pennsylvania for the funeral. With these guys we left at 4am and turned a 13 hour trip into 15 hours. It was a long day to say the least. Although we really miss my Grandma we know that she is no longer sick and in pain. Her funeral was sad but also a nice time to see family and remember all of the wonderful times we had with her. Please continue to pray for my Grandfather.
Since Brent could not take 2 weeks in a row off we ended up cancelling our trip to Atlanta (Six Flags & Aquarium) for this week. We decided to try to squeeze some fun into the trip last week so the boys would not be disappointed.
While in Altoona we took them to play at Slinky Action Zone which is an awesome giant play area with riding toys, climbing tunnels, slides etc. They had a blast there. We also took the boys to Meadows for some frozen custard. On the way home to Alabama we went through Cincinatti and spent the night at a hotel so we could go to King's Island which is similar to Six Flags. My nephew Austin went with us. They had some awesome rides and the boys had a great time. The highlight was seeing their favorite character Scooby Doo!! We also got to ride "the Beast" which is the longest wooden roller coaster in the nation. Finally, on the way home we stopped in Nashville at the Opry Mills Outlet mall and shopped a little. We took the boys to the Rocky Mountain Candy store to get a rare favorite treat of Chocolate covered marshmallows. That made for some hyper boys on the last 3 hours of our trip!!
Although it was a sad week we had a lot be to thankful for and we were able to have some fun as a family.

I am so sorry about your Grandma's passing. I know you miss her, but just remember, absent from the body, present with the Lord! I'm glad you took the time to have a little fun, too--I'm sure your grandma would've wanted you to! Maybe we can catch up the next time you travel to Pennsylvania. Love ya! Michele
