We had a busy but wonderful weekend. On Friday we went to my parents house for our annual family picnic. The kids all swam and we ate together with the cousins and grandparents. Nathaniel is now going down the slide by himself which is cool but a little scarey for mommy! Eli is learning to swim without floaties and Aubrey is a fish all over the pool! Friday night we shot off our fireworks that the boys had picked out. We had some cool rockets, colored smoke bombs, snappers, and some new things that you nail to a tree and they go in circles! Nathaniel watched but he kept his distance.
On Saturday we cleaned house during the morning and then headed to American Village. It is a local attraction with colonial style bulidings that are meant to look like Mt. Vernon etc. It is really nice. They have all kinds of people in costume, reenactments, live music and fireworks! We took our wagon, blankets, bubbles, coolers, and snacks and took it all in. Some good friends joined us along with several families from our church. Our church choir even sand some of the music. The boys had a great time with the other kids! (Eli is slurping slushies with Molly, his "girlfriend") He is such a little flirt! Nate liked the fireworks until they got really loud and then he just held on to me really tight!
Happy Independence day! Thanks to all of the troops out there who make our country so great by provding our freedom!
