We had a marvelous time at Gatlinburg staying at the Wilderness at the Smokies. The indoor water park was just what my active boys needed to expend some energy and not have to worry about the cold weather. The first night we were there we made some chocolate fondue. The boys had never had any fondue and they really enjoyed it! What a mess but at least we got some fresh fruit in them in the process. The next day we returned to the water park for almost all day. The big boys loved the big water slides and the giant wave pool and Nate loved the 2 kiddie play areas where they had mini slides and the giant dumping bucket. On the last day there the boys decided to brave the surfing ride. They did a great job and Eli really surprised me when he not only did it but held on twice as long as most of the other kids. Thursday night we headed over to Mr. Gatti's pizza buffet where the boys ate like pigs and then enjoyed playing in the arcade. The last day we decided to go shopping and walk around Gatlinburg. We hit a few of the shops, watched the taffy being made, had some great pancakes and enjoyed the finally warm weather. As we left town we took the boys to this awesome animal pet farm that has reindeer, kangaroos, zebras, donkeys, ponies, goats and even Elk. They really enjoyed getting to feed all of the animals, especially the reindeer. They wanted to know if he could fly like Santa's. After leaving the animal farm we drove home and stopped for dinner at Red Robin! Yum was it good! (Not if you are on weight watchers but you gotta live sometimes!) I actually lost another pound this week. I think all of the swimming and walking during the trip helped us out! Happy Spring!
