Fun in the Sun in Destin!!

We were very blessed this year to be able to go with daddy to his conference in Destin, FL. It was so much fun for the boys! It was Eli's 1st trip to the beach and Aubrey had not been since he was a baby. As much as we travel with them, the beach is not one of Daddy's favorite places so this was all new to them. They were so excited when we checked in our room and we had a gorgeous beach view from the balcony of our room. Eli just stood on the balcony and stared at the ocean in awe for what seemed like forever. In the picture above he was showing us how big the ocean was! On our 1st day there the waters were very rough due to Alberto and there was a double red flag so we just hung out on the beach and built sandcastles while Daddy was at his meeting. Aubrey would walk down toward the beach to get his feet wet but when he saw a wave coming he would run back fast to the towels(like pic above). It was so funny to watch him. Eli just played in the sand for hours and he was covered in it from head to toe!! Of course after we finished at the beach we went to swim in the indoor pool. The highlight of the day for Aubrey was when he got to take a shower outside before getting in the pool. He thought that was just hilarious! The day before coming home the waters had calmed a lot so we decided to venture in. We each held a boy and walked out as far as we could. After about 5 minutes a huge wave came and almost knocked us over. It went way over all of our heads and the boys got a mouth full of salt water! After that we could not pay them to go back in!
Also while in Destin we took the boys to "The Track" and rode go-karts, swings and bumper boats! They loved that! (especially spraying mommy in the face while she tried to figure out how to drive the goofy thing! ) The last picture is of the boys holding an Alligator at Fudpucker's! I really thought they would get in there and chicken out but they were brave and just held him like a pet!
Notice there are no pics of mommy on the beach. I truly fit the definition of beached whale!! I think Nathaniel enjoyed the beach though because he was doing a lot of swimming and kicking in there! Anyway, overall we had a blast and although we are exhausted it was some great fun in the sun! (and Daddy has another conference in Orlando in July!! Woohoo!)
