Well it was a tough and crazy weekend trying to get adjusted but Daddy decided to take them fishing to get their minds off of things. Some friends in Montevallo have a well-stocked pond with an almost guaranteed catch. Between Grandpa, Daddy and the two boys they caught 18 fish! Eli also caught his first fish which he was thrilled about. It was a decent size for his first one. They had a lot of fun and stayed at it most of the day Saturday. When they came back Eli's BS was low so we had to have a quick snack. He gobbled it down laying on our bed and zonked out cold with Orange Cheetos all over his hands and face. Bless his heart he was exhausted both physically and emotionally but he had a lot of fun.

Quick Eli update: Eli has done very well at shots and finger pricks. I guess it helps that he has seen big brother do it for a long time. He is having trouble adjusting to having to eat on a schedule and cries a little when we give his shots. His A1C (a test that shows the average of his BS over a 3 month period) was 7.6 which is a little higher than Aubrey's when he was diagnosed. That just means that the Diabetes has progressed more with him and he will need more insulin sooner. Some good news is that his doc has agreed to let us put him on the pump as soon as possible. Most kids have to be on shots for a year but since Aubrey is already on a pump and we know how everything works, they agreed to let us do it much sooner. We would love to have him on a pump by summer since it makes things so much more relaxed. Please keep praying!!! It is so hard knowing that 2 of our children will have this disease the rest of their lives.

Ahhh, poor little guy, bless his heart. He is being very brave. I have been thinking about you all a lot lately. I'm glad to see that he is doing pretty good. Take care and keep in touch.

P.S. Wow... I only wish I could get Alex to do the pump but he doesn't want anything to do with it yet.
