Bama Blizzard!!!

For those of us who used to live up North this 1 1/2 inch snow is just a dusting, but for the Southern folk (who we now consider ourselves to be) this is a blizzard. It has been 6 years since we had any snow here and even then it was not enough to play in. My kids were overjoyed today and have played in the snow all day. It is starting to melt now and they are so upset but at least they had a good 4-5 hours of fun playing in it. They had snow ball fights on the trampoline, built mini-snowmen, and even got a few sled rides in. Aubrey was so upset because there was none on the ground when he woke up this morning that he prayed at breakfast. "Lord Thank you for the food and drink and please send us 2 inches of snow on the ground." It started snowing right after breakfast and when he went back out to play in it he told the kids he had prayed for 2 inches and God sent it! It was so cute.
Nathaniel got to see his first snow and he liked it but he would not move. I think it felt uneasy to walk on so he just stood there and grinned. Our Retreiver Jake seemed to like it too. He laid down on our sofa on the back deck and just took it all in!
My favorite quote of the day came from my neighbor boy. He came to our door and when I answered he yelled "It's a Miracle....this is my first real snow!!" It was so cute.

On a sad note, my childhood best friend Marita, lost her Dad to cancer last night. He was only 59. Please keep her family in your prayers.
