Campout at Brierfield Park

Well we made it through our first real camping trip with the boyscouts. We were supposed to go to Tannehill but they double booked so at the last minute we ended up at Brierfield Iron works park. It was a family campout so there were 4 kids in Aubrey's den plus their families in addition to 120 or so other kids from other dens in our pack. There were so many tents it looked like a carnival.
We had a great time hiking, cooking over the campfire, playing at the playground, roasting marshmallows, doing skits, etc. Sleeping was one thing we did not do much of so we are all pretty exhausted.
Highlights of the trip for the boys:
1)Our den winning the scavenger hunt!!!(much to the dismay of the older groups there)
2)John Mark (their den leader) finding the missing letter box!
3)Getting to help make dinner. (They put everything in the pot and helped mix the soup.)
4)Roasting (and eating!)lots of marshmallows
5)Hunting bullets at the battleground.
6)Playing in the cool merry-go-round at the playground.
7)Eli- Playing with Molly!!!
8)Aubrey- listening to Ghost stories!
Overall I enjoyed it as well but after 2 days I was ready to come home to my shower and nice soft clean bed! It was great to see the boys get so excited about all the new experiences!!
