Well it has been a rough couple of weeks! Along with my trip to the ER last weekend, Aubrey got his new pump and we have had to check his blood sugars twice during each night. We have had very little sleep and it is starting to show. Last night we had Brent's family over for dinner and cake to celebrate Grandma's Birthday. Aubrey was acting strange most of the day and he was very lethargic after dinner. When everyone left we took his temp and it was 104!!!! He had large amounts of ketones in his bloodstream which is very dangerous while on the pump so we had to call his doc at 10pm. She had us change his infusion site, give him extra insulin, and we had to check his Blood Sugar every 2 hours all night long. Needless to say we did not get much sleep. This is 2 Sundays now we have missed at church!
This morning he seemed better but still had diarrea most of the day. He still has a low grade temp and is pretty tired but we decided to do something to cheer us all up. We got out the Easter egg coloring kit and set to decorating! Of course Eli cracked one within the 1st 5 minutes and they mixed all the paint colors but it was fun for all of us and a stress reliever that we all needed!
On a different positive note, the baby is fine and I have had no more spotting! Keep praying that Aubrey will feel better and we will continue to adjust to the pump. Also pray for Eli as we go on the 19th to seek a 2nd opinion on his vision/lazy eye. We are truly hoping that this new doc is better and he will be able to give a good diagnosis and the best solution for Eli.
